So like.. I dunno if y’all actually read these thing and idk if they how any substance. But this is my first child and I experience mental health issues. So.. These are 7 things that I think parents should consider practicing on a daily basis… I’m nowhere near perfect and feel like a hypocrite but this is something I’ve been trying to practice.
Having a schedule that fits for time with you and your kid… everyones life looks different, but kids thrive based off of routine…
Personal time.. make time for yourself by doing things that bring you joy…. because you can’t pour from an empty cup
Ask for help… post #1 talks about recognizing wither or not you may not or may have an unaddressed mental health disorder.. this could also look like asking your family or trusted individuals/group to help with baby, without burning that bridge….
Do fun shit with your kid — most of us are nurturing our inner child ourselves. Find activities and new things that you’ve always wanted to do and introduce these activities to your child.
Figure out what your child is interested in… everyone is themselves.. and our youngins are perceiving and developing their own lives. It is our best to allow them the freedom to and develop autonomy and self-trust.
Go outside for 5 minutes to get fresh air as much as possible.
Put down your phone :)
**Please be aware that I am NOT a professional therapist, counselor, Psychiatrist, or any type of medical provider. And I highly recommend seeking medical and mental health services in your local area to be properly treated <3
